THE AFFORDABLE SIT-TO-STAND DESK HAS ARRIVED!

The Cup whose name cannot be mentioned starts in less than one month. Notwithstanding our French and US allegiances we are proudly behind Bafana and eagerly await kick-off.

We have secured Cape Town premises in the District building in Woodstock and hope to launch our showroom towards the end of June.

As mentioned previously Inspiration Office is now the only Steelcase distributor in South Africa and we are excited to support the Cape Town market with a local presence.

We try to introduce relevant and interesting products all the time. This month we are launching an electronic, height adjustable workstation – at an affordable price.

The electronic mechanism is fully imported from Europe utilising Bosch components and incorporating Swedish design. The table adjusts silently from 600 mm to 1’250 mm.

A height adjustable table has many ergonomic and functional properties. Interestingly, Scandinavian countries are beginning to mandate height adjustable worksurfaces as a legal requirement in offices. We think that may be taking things too far but we are convinced about the benefits of the product.

SIT-TO-STAND INSIGHTS Give yourself a break. Ergonomists agree that micro breaks are an excellent way to reduce the affects of repetitive activities. Alternating between standing and seated positions reduces the need for extended work breaks, increasing employee productivity. Take a stand for short meetings. For an easy way to make meetings move quicker we suggest you set your workstation to the standing position. You'll be surprised by the prompt pace when people are thinking on their feet. Dual function worksurfaces. Many architects and designers prefer to collaborate on large-sized documents, like building plans, at counter-height levels. A variable height worksurface change the functionality of desk instantly. Decompress your spine (and your mind). Adopting a sit-to-stand work style can also give your back a break. Research has shown that the intradiscal pressure in seated working positions can be nearly 50% greater than in an upright standing position. Studies also report that when employees use both a seated and standing positions throughout the workday, their spinal compression is lessened. Adjust yourself to a new altitude (and attitude). The ability to quickly and easily adjust from a seated to standing position makes the difference in motivating your employees to take a stand for comfort.
